SCHOOL COMMITTEE
VACANCY NOTICE

The Town of Webster is seeking to fill a vacancy on the School Committee. Any Webster resident interested in being considered for appointment to fill this vacancy is required to submit a letter to the Board of Selectmen by 10:00 a.m. on May 19, 2017.

This appointment will be until the next Annual Town Election in May, 2018 at which time there will be an election to fill this position.


Applicants will be required to attend an interview conducted jointly by the Select Board and School Committee on May 22, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Hall, 350 Main Street, Webster, MA 01570.

Town of Webster Conservation Commission

Conservation commissions were established in 1957 under Massachusetts General Law which gave cities and towns the authority to promote, develop, and protect natural resources, including wetlands. An integral part of the Town of Webster's Department of Planning, the Conservation Commission administers and enforces state laws and town bylaws affecting wetland resources.

The Board of Selectmen is seeking one (1) Webster resident to be appointed as a member of the Conservation Commission. Responsibilities include attending bi-weekly meetings, communication with the Department of Planning and bi-weekly site visits are required. Knowledge of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act is a plus.

Town of Webster Zoning Board of Appeals

The Board of Selectmen is seeking one (1) Webster resident to be appointed as an Associate Member of the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). The ZBA is a quasi-judicial body that operates under the authority of Chapter 40A of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the purpose of promoting health, safety, convenience, and general welfare of the Town of Webster. The ZBA has the power to hear appeals and to hear requests for special permits and variances.

Town of Webster Planning Board

The Board of Selectmen is seeking two (2) Webster Residents to serve on the Planning Board as Associate Members. The Planning Board's general purpose is to provide for and guide the orderly growth and development of the community. The responsibilities of the Planning Board are varied and governed by the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and include reviewing submitted plans for the development of land for residential, commercial, and other land uses. In addition, the Planning Board is responsible for guiding the process of zoning amendments as considerd at Town Meeting.

BOARD OF SELECTMEN
PERSONNEL ADVISORY BOARD

The Board of Selectmen is seeking two (2) active Webster residents to serve on the Personnel Advisory Board. The Personnel Advisory Board shall conduct studies, surveys, and analysis as needed and upon request of the Board of Selectmen or Town Administrator. Any formal matter, action or vote, etc. undertaken by the Personnel Advisory Board shall not bind the Administrator or Board of Selectmen to any action relative to its determination. However, all activities or decisions rendered and approved by a majority vote of the Personnel Advisory Board shall be made available and presented at the request of the Board of Selectmen or Town Administrator. The Personnel Board shall coordinate all personnel rules and requirements for all Town employees, except the school department.
