Preparing for a Hurricane or Tropical Storm (cdc.gov)
Specifically, please remember the following:
- Have an emergency supply kit including a flashlight and batteries
- Make sure you have all necessary prescriptions/medications
- Store enough food and water for your family for several days
- Fill your vehicle’s gas tank
- Charge necessary electronics
- Test run any generators you may have (never operate indoors)
- Secure outdoor items such as trash cans, patio furniture, grills, etc.
Governor Baker has ordered all vehicles off of the road during the storm. Please stay home and keep yourself safe. After the storm, allow time for crews to clear trees or debris blocking roads. Avoid any down powerlines. Report down power lines to National Grid at 1-800-465-1212.
The storm, along with the high amounts of rainfall we have already had this summer, will likely lead to widespread flooding. Prepare by:
- Addressing areas known to have previous flooding issues
- Inspecting rain gutters, down spouts etc.
- Checking and clearing storm drains near your home
- Test your sump pump

The Webster Senior Center will be closed Monday due to the storm. Changes to operating hours of other town buildings will be updated on the Town’s website.
