The mission of the Webster Board of Health is to protect, promote, and preserve the health and well-being of all residents of the Town of Webster. Under Massachusetts General Laws, state and local regulations, and community direction, the Board of Health is held responsible for disease prevention, health and environmental protection, and promoting a healthy community. The Board of Health serves as the local extension of both the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
The Webster Board of Health consists of 5 members - 3 elected by the voters and 2 appointed by the Town Administrator. There is a vacancy for one of our elected positions. The Board of Selectmen, along with the remaining Board of Health members shall appoint a new member until the next Town Election.
Residents who are interested in protecting and promoting the physical, mental, and environmental health of the Town of Webster are encouraged to apply. Experience in public health, healthcare, disease prevention, and/or emergency preparedness is helpful, but not required.
Candidates must be residents of the Town of Webster and possess a basic understanding or knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of serving on a multiple member board.
